China On May 12, WRI hosted representatives from the Cement Task Force of the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development to plan for the next workshop to train Chinese cement companies to account for CO2 emissions using the GHG Protocol.  At this meeting in Washington, D.C., the China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) and the National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) presented results from a survey of 12 of China’s largest cement companies who are beginning to implement the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) CO2 Protocol based on the GHG Protocol.  This will be the second collaboration between WRI, WBCSD’s CSI, CBMA, NDRC, the U.S....

Philippine Greenhouse Gas Program Launched in Manila

The Philippines Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Reporting Program (PhilGARP) was officially launched at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manila on November 30, 2006. The event culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between program partners Klima Climate Change Center of the Manila Observatory (Klima-MO), Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE), the Department of Energy, the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (EMB-DENR), and the World Resources Institute.
