Register Now: Topline Findings from Market Based Approaches Survey 

Between November 2022 and March 2023, Greenhouse Gas Protocol collected stakeholder input via four online surveys on the Corporate Standard, Scope 2 Guidance, Scope 3 Standard, and market-based accounting approaches. In this webinar on October 3 from 10:00-11:00am ET, the GHG Protocol secretariat will review key themes that emerged in the market-based accounting approaches survey. Participants can submit questions for the speakers in advance as well as during the live session. This session will be recorded for those who are unable to join the live session. Seeking Feedback: Survey on Subnational GHG Reporting 

GHG Protocol is seeking stakeholder input to understand the need, scope, and potential approaches to inform updates or additional guidance related to the Global Protocol for Community-scale Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventories, also known as the Global Protocol for Cities or GPC. The survey can be accessed here, and respondents also have the option to submit a proposal for updates to the GPC or for additional guidance. All feedback must be submitted by November 15 via the survey form or proposal template to be considered.

On Wednesday, August 23, the GHG Protocol secretariat hosted a webinar reviewing the key themes presented by stakeholders in the recently concluded Corporate Standard and Scope 3 Standard surveys and related proposal submissions. Scope 3 Accounting and Target Setting Video with Indigo Ag 

In this video, GHG Protocol’s Matt Ramlow speaks with Meredith Reisfield of Indigo Ag about Scope3 accounting and target setting for companies that have agriculture in their value chain. In the interview Matt shares his experience with the Land Sector and Removals Guidance development process and GHG Protocol’s commitment to bringing diverse stakeholders together around best practices in GHG accounting.    

GHG Protocol at Renewable Energy Markets Annual Conference 

Michael Macrae, Senior Manager, Scope 2, participated in the session “Renewable Energy Accounting for Scope 2 in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Updates Process.” This panel discussion discussed the current Scope 2 paradigm and the feedback submitted via GHG Protocol’s stakeholder survey process. Kyla Aiuto, Scope 2 Manager, participated in the session “Global Impacts of Evolving International Energy Standards.” This workshop featured experts from GHG Protocol, Center for Resource Solutions, and RECS Energy Certificate Association, who updated attendees on the evolution of their standards.  

GHG Protocol at Responsible Business 2023 Conference  

Alexander Frantzen, Scope 3 Senior Associate, will be presenting at Responsible Business 2023: The Supply Chain of the Future. Alexander will be participating in the breakout session “Scope 3 Accounting in Multi-Industry Supply Chains” from 1:30-2:30 on Wednesday, October 18. The breakout session will explore the methodology used by companies across industries to engage with suppliers, collect data, and improve accuracy. Live Now: New eLearning Chatbot 

GHG Protocol is happy to launch the eLearning chatbot to support learners in accessing answers quickly. The chatbot is another way to receive support on common questions when purchasing, accessing, and completing the courses. Courses can be accessed on the GHG Protocol eLearning site. Please note that the chatbot is not a generative AI chatbot. The chatbot will only answer questions based on the eLearning Frequently Asked Questions. For more complicated inquiries please complete the eLearning support form.
